There is a reason the diner mug has remained an icon for decades. We modeled the Heritage Diner Mug after the classic. Coffee tastes best when it’s fresh and hot, not when it’s sitting in a massive thermos getting stale and lukewarm. This ceramic diner mug is a nod to a simpler time, free from fuss.
Why You’ll Love This Mug:
- Easily stackable in your cupboard
- Crafted from 100% non-toxic clay and glazes, so you can sip with peace of mind
- Oven, microwave, and dishwasher safe

Inspired by the Virginia state flower, our Dogwood pottery collection features large white flowers on a matte sandy-colored glaze base. Our Dogwood collection offers a unique tactile experience for users.

Bought this as a gift. Love that it is made of safe materials, is durable and of excellent quality but above all Made in the USA. I am a returning customer and will very likely be back again.

My dad was complaining about how coffee mugs aren’t thick enough like they were when he was growing up. I spent hours trying to find a suitable mug with thicker walls. After reading other reviews I decided to give these a shot. I bought one for my mom and dad as Christmas presents. So far my dad has really enjoyed his! He definitely loves the thickness of the mug!
Emerson Creek Pottery Marketing –
What a thoughtful gift, Megan! We are happy to hear your dad is enjoying his new mug and hope it reminds him of the mugs he used growing up. That why we made the heritage mug — it reminds us of the good ole days.
Kathleen –
Just okay. These coffee mugs were not perfect for me. I guess because they are handmade. I kept them but was not super happy with the quality.
Emerson Creek Pottery Marketing –
Hi Kathleen! Thanks for your review. If you are unhappy with the quality of your mugs, please send us an email at retail@emersoncreekpottery with more details. We’d love to know why you aren’t happy with the quality of your mugs and see if there is anything we can do to improve your experience!
SHEILA –
The pinecone is one of my favorites. I read the review about these being like the old diner mugs and knew they were what I wanted. These are nice and heavy, but not huge like some cups are now. Made in America, beautiful, and you can throw them in the dishwasher!
Emerson Creek Pottery Marketing –
Thanks for the 5 stars, Sheila! We love diner mugs, too, so we decided to make the perfect diner mug — without any of the harmful chemicals you find in many mass-produced mugs. So glad to hear you are loving your Emerson Creek Pottery!

I bought this cup and the tea cup at the same time. They are both high quality. Beautiful finish. The rim is thicker on this one, than the tea cup. Took me a little to warm up to it. This one holds nicely with one hand wrapped around it.

Initially I thought this a bit pricey. But after using it the quality and craftsmanship is unsurpassed. Best dam coffee mug I have ever owned. Heavy, sturdy and great looking! Its like the old diner mugs that I could never find “Made in America.” Its the thickest walled mug I have ever found. Keeps contents hot, feels great to hold! This mug is built to last a lifetime and longer. Stop buying cheap foreign made out of heaven knows what mugs. You and your family, your health deserve the best. Made in America by Americans who work and pay taxes that support their community!
