Reduce plastic waste and beautify your home!

Go Green Earthware soap dish and lotion bottle help reduce plastic waste

Your home is your sanctuary. You’ve decorated it in a way that represents you and your family. You like quality decor – not too expensive, but not too cheap, either. You take pride in your home and you want it to be inviting when guests come to visit.

You’ve got it looking nice, but then, you realize, uh-oh! Those cheap ninety-nine cent single-use plastic soap dispensers next to your bathroom sink (and your kitchen sink) could look a lot nicer!

Shocking fact: Did you know that according to the most recent published study (2018) from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, in the United States 26,970 TONS of plastic waste wound up in landfills? That number has risen astoundingly since the first study on the subject (in 1960), with “only” 390 tons of plastic waste in landfills that year.

Like us, you might be conscious of the amount of plastic you use each day. For that, we applaud you! Way to go!

We believe that finding economic solutions to lower our plastic waste and simplify our lives should always be a priority. And here at Emerson Creek Pottery, we think one way to start is by replacing single use plastic home accessories with sustainable stoneware pottery to beautify our homes!

Additionally, did you know there are new businesses popping up across the United States called “refilleries”? In these shops, you can take your already-owned refillable containers for laundry detergent, liquid soaps, and more, and, that’s right! …Refill them! Search the web to see if there’s a refillery near you.

Check out our long-lasting, hand-crafted and hand-painted Soap/Lotion Bottle. Isn’t it beautiful? (We like to think so!)

We would be delighted if you found a great place nearby to find soaps and lotions to refill in your Emerson Creek Soap/Lotion bottle. (While the reusable pump in our soap/lotion bottles are made of plastic, they are durable and can be used for the life of the bottle – thus, severely reducing net plastic waste!)

If you prefer offering a bar of your favorite small batch artisan-made hand soap next to the bathroom sink for your houseguests, we also have a great solution for that! Our Soap Dishes are useful and nice to look at, too.

You could also pair your favorite Soap Dish with a Soap/Lotion bottle to brighten up your space. When doing so, not only do they look great together, but you’re offering options to your houseguests! They can choose between liquid or bar soap. Or, if you fill the bottle with lotion, they’ll have the opportunity to moisturize after washing with your favorite bar soap. Either way, you can’t go wrong!

While we’re on the subject of useful around-the-sink items, check out our adorable Stoneware Storage Jars. They add the perfect finishing touch to your countertop decor. Fill these jars with hair pins or cotton balls in the bathroom, or, your favorite dried herbs or garlic in the kitchen.
